This is nothing new, but Popular Science has a nice little photo series on some of the cool features of the colossal squid.

So check it out here, and keep the giant mollusks foremost in your mind.

I think that's a giant squid - I spent 3 days in the thawing room at Te Papa with the colossal so I'm in a pretty good place to tell!! Te Papa museum is putting its colossal squid on display 13 December with a awesome online exhibition too. Check out www.tepapa.govt.nz/squid or go behind the scenes with http://blog.tepapa.govt.nz/ . Cheers!

This photo is not a colossal squid. It is a giant squid and form the background it would appear to Mote Aquarium, which indeed did display a giant squid.
